Football vs. LSU: What to Watch For

OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels will face the No. 7 LSU Tigers at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, with College GameDay taking place in Oxford 8:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m. CT.

Series by the Numbers
This will mark the 13th meeting between Ole Miss and LSU with both teams ranked, with LSU holding an 8-5 advantage in those matchups. It is also the first time since 1962 that both teams enter the game ranked in the top 10. Since the Magnolia Bowl trophy was introduced in 2008, LSU leads the series 11-6. Ole Miss has eight all-time wins over LSU when the Tigers are ranked in the top 10. The home team has won 12 of the last 14 meetings in the series.
The Last 5
Ole Miss is 3-2 in its last five meetings with LSU. Three of those games featured ranked matchups, and three were played in Oxford. In the Rebels' 2025 win over LSU in Oxford, Trinidad Chambliss threw for 314 yards, added 71 rushing yards, and accounted for one touchdown.
Golding vs. Ranked Opponents
Pete Golding has faced a ranked opponent in five of his first six games as Ole Miss head coach. Three of those opponents have been ranked in the top 10, including No. 10 Miami, No. 7 LSU and No. 3 Georgia.
Lacy's Scoring Streak
Running back Kewan Lacy has recorded at least one rushing touchdown in 11 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the FBS. His 27 career rushing touchdowns are tied for third-most in Ole Miss history. Last season, Lacy also finished among the nation's top three in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and total points scored.
Louisiana Connections
Ole Miss has eight Louisiana natives on its roster, including quarterback Walker Howard, linebackers Tah'j Butler and JaMichael Garrett, running back JT Lindsey, defensive end Landon Barnes, wide receiver Kervin Johnson Jr., safety Anthony Robinson III and offensive lineman Jalan Chapman.
