OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss volleyball program is back home at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center this weekend, beginning the stretch by hosting Mississippi State on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.

The Rebels (8-12, 2-7 SEC) begin the stretch of the final four home matches of the regular season by welcoming the Bulldogs (15-5, 5-4 SEC). The match will be streamed via SEC Network Plus.

RALLY POINTS
  • Ole Miss returns home to open a four-match homestand, wrapping up the regular season at the Gillom Center over the next two weekends.
  • Freshman Jaidyn Hartsfield has emerged offensively in recent matches, leading the Rebels in kills in two of the last three matches.
  • Last time she faced Mississippi State, sophomore Keirstyn Carlton had one of her best ever performances, tallying 12 kills on .400 hitting, while adding four blocks.
  • The Rebels have developed an early tendency to finish strong. Ole Miss is a combined 14-26 in all first and second sets, but 17-18 in sets three through five.
  • Libero Cameron Bradley continues to lead the SEC in digs per set at 4.93. Despite injuries marring a few matches, Bradley ranks 12th nationally in the metric.
  • Sophomore Bella Bonanno has stepped up in Bradley's absence, recording back-to-back career-highs in digs with 18 against South Carolina and 20 at Auburn.
  • Ole Miss is 7-0 when recording at least seven service aces, compared to 1-12 across all others.
SERIES HISTORY
Ole Miss enters the weekend with a robust all-time series lead against Mississippi State, leading 64-28. Despite the advantage, the series has been extremely competitive in recent seasons, with each side winning three of the last six matches and six of the last 12. The Bulldogs were the winner of last season's battle, emerging 3-1 in Starkville. The Rebels recorded 92 digs in the loss, with 20-dig performances from Cammy Niesen, Mokihana Tufono and Shalya Meyer.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rebels put up a strong fight at one of the top teams in the nation, but were unable to break through, falling 3-0 at No. 5 Florida on Sunday. Jaidyn Hartsfield led the Rebels with nine kills, while Melia Johnson added eight kills, as the Rebels found offensive success early, to the tune of .242 hitting against the talented Gators defense, but could not sustain the momentum.

CAM CAN
Ole Miss libero Cameron Bradley had a season debut to remember, tallying an NCAA leading 78 digs over the first three matches of the season on her way to SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Bradley bested her previous career-high in digs in all three matches, headlined by a 30-dig performance in the finale against LMU.

Since that time, Bradley has gotten off to a sensational start to what has been a breakout campaign. Despite currently dealing with an injury, Bradley ranks continues to lead the SEC and ranks 12th in the nation in digs per set with 4.93.

Bradley is in her first season as the starting libero following the graduation of all-time digs leader Cammy Niesen and has seamlessly stepped into the rotation. Bradley has also shined at the service line with 14 service aces this season.

TIME TO CROOK
The Rebels made a big splash in the transfer portal entering this season, adding UAB opposite Jorda Crook to the program. A native of Ohatchee, Ala., Crook made her mark in three seasons as a Blazer, earning two All-AAC First Team honors and taking home five AAC Player of the Week awards, becoming the first UAB volleyball player to ever accomplish the feat.

Crook follows a growing path of impact transfers into the program. Head coach Bre Henry and her staff have developed 400-kill hitters in back-to-back seasons, with Crook entering the fold on the heels of 394 kills as a junior at UAB.

Crook is off to a strong start to her Ole Miss tenure, tallying a team-high 217 kills, while also leading the team with 56.0 blocks and ranking second in with 18 service aces.

Crook made personal history against Missouri, reaching 1,000 kills in her decorated career and doing so in just 86 matches.

THE ROAD TO 1K
After senior opposite Jorda Crook earned her 1,000th collegiate kill in a home victory over Missouri on October 2, the Rebels have their eyes on more big milestones ahead of the meat of the SEC schedule.

Shayla Meyer is seeking to join Crook at 1,000 kills, standing at 924 in her collegiate career. The fifth year is unique in all have come as a Rebel and reaching the milestone would put Meyer into the top-10 all-time in the rally scoring era at Ole Miss. Setter Vivianna Samaniego is also chasing a personal milestone, standing 77 assists away from 1,000 assists.

CLIMBING THE LADDER
Shayla Meyer enters her final collegiate season with eyes on the record books. After multiple service aces at No. 4 Kentucky, Meyer moved into a tie for third place in the rally scoring era in service aces and now has 86 in her career. Meyer is seeking to become the eighth Rebel to ever reach 100 service aces.

Her 32 aces in 2025 marked Meyer's second straight season with 30 or more service aces. A third-consecutive 30-ace season would be enough to allow Meyer to become just the second Rebel in the rally scoring era to tally 100 or more service aces and put pressure on becoming the all-time leader in the era.

Additionally, Meyer also has eyes on several longer-term milestones, including 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Meyer currently sits at 924 kills and 757 digs in her standout Rebel tenure.

SCOUTING MISSISSIPPI STATE
With a lofty 15-5 record, the Mississippi State Bulldogs still find themselves seeking more signature wins as the program makes a charge for a return to the NCAA Tournament under head coach Julie Darty Dennis. The Bulldogs have been particularly potent at home in Starkville, where they are one of two programs in the SEC to remain perfect at home, at 7-0 overall.

Lindsey Mangelson remains the top threat of the offense, with 3.68 kills per set, despite a slightly lower hitting percentage than her breakout freshman campaign. Mangelson is buoyed by more options around her in 2026, with improved play from Bernadita Aguilar, who is hitting .289 this season. Junior Noella Obi continues to anchor the block with 72.0 on the season, while her active defense behind is averaging 15.49 digs per set to lead the SEC. Libero McKenna Yates leads the way with 4.43 digs per set this season.
