No. 19 Women’s Golf Seventh After Opening Day at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 19 Ole Miss women's golf sits seventh at 5-over following the opening two rounds of the Cougar Classic on Monday at Yeamans Hall Club.
The Rebels opened the tournament shooting 5-under par to take the first-round lead before posting 10-over par in the afternoon. Florida leads the 18-team field at 9-under entering Tuesday's final round.
Mary Miller paced Ole Miss at 2-under, carding rounds of 67 and 73 to finish the day, and is tied for seventh individually. Matilda Björkman joined Miller inside the top 20, shooting 70-72, to sit tied for 20th at par.
Kajsalotta Svarvar is tied for 27th at 2-over, following rounds of 68 and 76. Lisa Herman finished the day tied for 47th at 5-over, while Ebba Lundqvist is tied for 74th at 9-over.
Competing as an individual, Sophie Linder posted consecutive rounds of 72 and is tied for 27th at 2-over.
Ole Miss concludes the Cougar Classic in its final round on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
