No. 19 Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 19 Ole Miss women's golf finished seventh at the Cougar Classic on Tuesday, carding a total of 6-over par at Yeamans Hall Club.
The Rebels closed the tournament with a 1-over 285 after recording rounds of 279 and 294 on Monday. Florida captured the team title at 16-under 836, followed by Tennessee at 6-under 846 and Baylor at 5-under 847.
Mary Miller paced Ole Miss with a ninth-place finish, shooting 2-under 211 in three rounds. Miller opened the tournament with a 4-under 67 before posting rounds of 73 and 71 to collect her second top-10 finish of the season.
Competing as an individual, Sophie Linder tied for 15th at even-par 213. The senior closed with a 2-under 69 following consecutive rounds of 72.
Kajsalotta Svarvar tied for 22nd at 1-over 214 after rounds of 68, 76 and 70. Svarvar went 4-under par on the par fours this week, ranking second-best in the field, while Linder and Miller played the par fives at 4-under to tie for sixth.
Matilda Björkman finished tied for 30th at 3-over, while Lisa Herman used a final-round 70 to tie for 39th at 4-over. Ebba Lundqvist rounded out the Ole Miss lineup in a tie for 77th at 13-over 226.
Ole Miss returns to action Oct. 5-7 at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
