OXFORD, Miss. – Jaylon Braxton picked off Sam Leavitt in the end zone with just over a minute left in the game to seal a 32-24 win for No. 8 Ole Miss over No. 7 LSU Saturday evening in the Magnolia Bowl.

In the first top-10 matchup between Ole Miss (3-0, 1-0 SEC) and LSU (2-1, 0-1 SEC) since 1962, the Rebels outgained the Tigers 426 to 330 and forced the turnover late to secure the win. Ole Miss now has nine all-time wins against a top-10 LSU team: 1960 (No. 3), 1962 (No. 4), 1965 (No. 5), 1969 (No. 6, 1997 (No. 8), 2009 (No. 8), 2013 (No. 6), 2025 (No. 4) and 2026 (No. 7).

Ole Miss has won 14 consecutive home games, which ties for the second-longest active streak in FBS. Ole Miss has also won 10 out of their last 11 games dating back to Oct. 25, 2025. The Rebels also set the Vaught-Hemmingway single game record with 70,033 fans in attendance.

Offensive Leaders
Chambliss went 33-of-48 through the air for 363 yards and two touchdowns. Chambliss recorded his 16th consecutive game with a touchdown toss tying Eli Manning for the third longest streak in school history. Lacy added 43 yards on nine carries and a score. Lacy has rushed for at least one touchdown in 12 consecutive games. Ole Miss had five receivers with three or more catches. Traylon Ray led the way with seven catches and 115 yards on eight targets with a touchdown. Deuce Alexander notched seven receptions and 60 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive Leaders
The game-sealing interception was Braxton's first INT of the season. Sharif Denson and Tah'j Butler led the Rebels in total tackles with eight a piece. Luke Ferrelli added six and a pass break up. Will Echoles led Ole Miss with three tackles for loss and a sack.

First Quarter
After a pair of punts from both teams, the Ole Miss offense drove the field before settling for a 37-yard field goal with 6:38 to go. It was Lucas Carneiro's fifth make of the season and his eighth straight game with a field goal dating back to last year.. The Ole Miss defense stifled LSU's next drive. Chambliss connected on two big completions to set up the Lacy five-yard run to give the Rebels a 10-0 lead. The Rebels defense held the LSU offense to just 34 yards of total offense and a pair of first downs in the opening quarter.

Second Quarter
The Rebel defense stood tall again, forcing LSU's third punt of the half. Ole Miss then marched 92-yards to extend their lead to 17-0. Chambliss hit Traylon Ray for his first touchdown reception of the year and first touchdown in an Ole Miss uniform. Ray would tally over 100 yards in the first half, his first career 100 yard receving game. Before the half, LSU put together their first scoring drive of the game, making it a 17-7 game. With no timeouts, Chambliss and company put together an excellent two-minute drive, as the quarterback found Deuce Alexander in the back of the end zone to give Ole Miss a 24-7 lead at the break. It was Alexander's third touchdown catch of the season. In the first half the Ole Miss offense recorded 289 total yards, the most yards LSU has given up all season.

Third Quarter
LSU's defense produced the first turnover of the game, intercepting Chambliss to give the Tiger offense its best starting field position. Sam Leavitt recorded his first rushing score of the game to cut the Ole Miss lead to 24-14 with 9:18 to go. The next drive for the Rebels stalled out due to penalties and Carneiro's 53-yard attempt was wide right. On third and 13, Leavitt connected with Winston Watkins Jr. from 26-yards to cap the LSU drive. The Rebels held the lead, 24-21 with 3:05 to go.

Fourth Quarter
LSU had a lengthy, nine-play drive to tie the game at 24 with 11:21 to go. Chambliss and the Ole Miss offense orchestrated a 13-play drive that ended in a 14-yard quarterback keeper to give Ole Miss a 30-24 lead. Chambliss has now thrown and rushed for a touchdown in the same game seven times during his career. After a pair of offside penalties, the Rebels went for the two-point conversion and found the endzone to go up eight points with 6:14 to go.

Lane Kiffin called his final timeout on fourth and goal from the six-yard line with 1:03 to go. Pete Golding's defense forced the first and most important turnover of the day for the Rebels. The Rebels defense sealed the victory with less than one minute remaining when Jaylon Braxton recorded an interception on a tipped ball by Kam Franklin to preserve the win.The Rebels would hold on, 32-24. It was Jaylon Braxton's second career interception at Ole Miss.
