OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Soccer travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to take on UAB for its final game of a three-game road stretch on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

Ole Miss begins a new chapter in 2026 under first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger, who was named the fourth head coach in program history on Dec. 1, 2025.
Shulenberger came to Oxford after 11 seasons at Washington State, where he became the winningest coach in program history with a 113-67-34 record. He led the Cougars to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first College Cup appearance in 2019.
During his time at Washington State, Shulenberger coached 43 all-conference selections and 10 players who were drafted into the NWSL or USL Super League.

Ole Miss improved to 3-0-0 on the season Thursday night, picking up a 1-0 road win over College of Charleston. Ava Ghoreishi scored the lone goal of the match, becoming the fourth different Rebel to find the back of the net this season. Taylor Prigge played all 90 minutes between the posts and helped Ole Miss secure its second shutout of the year. The Rebels controlled the match defensively, holding the Cougars to just one shot and no shots on goal, while Ole Miss finished with 16 shots, eight shots on goal and six corner kicks.
SCOUTING REPORT: UAB
UAB welcomes Ole Miss to Birmingham with a 1-1-1 record through its first three matches of the season. The Blazers began the year with a 4-2 win over Georgia State before falling to Mississippi State, 2-1, and playing Western Kentucky to a 1-1 draw. UAB has scored six goals on 36 shots while allowing five goals on 27 shots. The Blazers are led offensively by Avery Berryman, who has tallied two goals, one assist and five points, while Lailah Stewart has added two goals and four points. Morgan Goehring and Emily Cole have each scored once for UAB. The Blazers are led by head coach Erica Demers.

Pontieri was one of 45 midfielders added to the watch list and one of seven from the SEC. The North Florida transfer came to Oxford after playing in 57 matches from 2023-25, scoring 14 goals and adding 12 assists over more than 2,700 minutes.
In 2025, Pontieri earned first-team All-ASUN honors after leading the conference in assists, shots on goal, total shots and game-winning goals. She finished the season with 10 assists, 44 shots on goal, 101 total shots, five game-winning goals and eight goals.

Ole Miss had five players selected to the 2026 SEC Soccer Preseason Watch List, with Paxton Bock, Ava Ghoreishi, Audrey Shackelford, Jenna Studer and Alena Watts earning recognition from the league office.
