Men’s Tennis Prepares for Three-Match Weekend at Home

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's tennis will host a trio of opponents this weekend with a doubleheader on Friday, then a separate match on Sunday.
Ole Miss (9-0) is off to its best start to a season this decade and will try to continue its hot start on Friday in a doubleheader with the first match against the Mercer Bears (0-4) at 10:30 a.m. The Rebels will then face off against upstate rival Memphis (5-2) at 5 p.m., both at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center.
The Rebels will then close the weekend with a single match against Belmont (2-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The location for the match against Belmont has yet to be determined; it will be announced later this week.
Ole Miss enters the weekend with two ranked doubles pairings. No. 18 Isac Strömberg and Kai Milburn, No. 49 Loan Lestir and Matthieu Chambonniere.
Mercer comes to Oxford with four straight losses: Florida State, No. 9 Central Florida, Georgia Southern and Jacksonville State. The Bears will hope to bring in their first season win by attempting to topple the Rebels' undefeated start.
Memphis is riding momentum into the matchup against Ole Miss with two ranked doubles pairings. No. 83 Maxime Dobouch and Moritz Kudernatsch, No. 87 Marcos Castro Fabra and Sam Reeve. Memphis will arrive with an SEC win under its belt. For this past week, it took down Alabama, 4-0.
Belmont will face off against another SEC opponent, Vanderbilt, today before coming to take on the Rebels. The Bruins (2-3) hope to get the season rolling after two postponed matches due to winter weather.
