Men’s Tennis Adds Andrew Lutschaunig as Assistant Coach

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's tennis has rounded out its coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, as head coach Jake Jacoby announced the addition of Andrew Lutschaunig as an assistant coach on Thursday.
"We are super excited and lucky to have Andrew joining the coaching staff this year," Jacoby said. "Andrew has incredible experience as a player at Ohio State, where he reached a national championship appearance and two Final Fours as a team. Most importantly, Andrew is incredibly motivated to help our guys grow both as tennis players and as people."
Lutschaunig comes to Oxford after one season as an assistant coach at Dayton, where he helped guide the Flyers to an 18-7 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Atlantic 10 play. Dayton advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship final before falling to Richmond, 4-3.
Before joining the Dayton staff, Lutschaunig served as a coach at Kass Tennis Academy in Columbus, Ohio, following a standout playing career at Ohio State from 2018-24.
Lutschaunig built an impressive doubles résumé with the Buckeyes, highlighted by a 2023 NCAA doubles championship and Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American honors. He also claimed the ITA Fall Nationals doubles title in 2022.
During his Ohio State career, Lutschaunig totaled 18 singles wins and 68 doubles wins. In 2023-24, he appeared in 30 doubles matches and finished 17-11, including two ranked victories. The previous season, he went 31-9 in doubles with a team-best 14 ranked wins and added a 7-2 singles record.
Lutschaunig also delivered in the postseason for the Buckeyes, clinching the doubles point against TCU in the 2023 NCAA team semifinals. He later rallied with JJ Tracy to win five consecutive matches against ranked opponents en route to the NCAA doubles title.
Academically, Lutschaunig was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2024, a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a six-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.
A native of Richboro, Pennsylvania, Lutschaunig was a four-star recruit and ranked No. 83 in the 2018 class before arriving at Ohio State. He was a two-time District 12 individual champion, a state qualifier and a unanimous Philadelphia Catholic League MVP as a sophomore and junior.
