AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Sports Council announced their midseason watch list for the 2026 Ray Guy Award, given to the nation's top collegiate punter each season, selecting Ole Miss punter Oscar Bird to the list on Thursday.

Called on to punt 26 times so far this season, Bird holds an average of 45.8 yards per kick through eight games. He's had just one punt go for a touchback with eight of his boots landing inside the opponent's 20-yard line, while sending eight punts over 50 yards. Bird has helped Ole Miss rank second in the SEC and 14th in the FBS with a net punting average of 43.2 yards.

During two his two seasons with the Rebels, Bird holds a career punting average of 45.9 yards, the second-best mark in school history.

Bird has already earned plenty of recognition from the organization this season, as he was named to the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list, and has twice been selected to the Ray Guy Award 'Ray's 8 of the Week' list.

Ten semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award will be determined on November 13, with the final three finalists announced on November 24. The winner will be unveiled during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 11.
