NFL Rebels Update: Week 8
OXFORD, Miss. – Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the status of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL. In Week 8, 18 former Rebels saw action across the NFL.
Washington cornerback Trey Amos came up big under the lights on Sunday Night Football, finishing with four total tackles and two passes defended in a 27-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The first pass Amos defended was on third down, leading to an Eagles punt just before halftime. The Commanders were able to take advantage and kick a field goal to take a 13-10 lead into half.
Amos allowed just one catch for seven yards on five targets Sunday night, a 39.6 passer rating when being targeted. Since Amos came back from injury, the Commanders have allowed 238 passing yards per game, down from 269 yards per game when he was out.
