Men’s Cross Country Closes Out Regular Season at Nuttycombe Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The Ole Miss men's cross country team wrapped up competition at the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday afternoon, finishing 26th in the men's championship 8K "A" race at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
 
The Rebels finished 26th among 35 collegiate teams in a field of over 230 runners, led by Kidus Misgina's 28th-place finish with a time of 23:12.9.
 
John Shoemaker was the next Rebel across the line, finishing 111th with a time of 23:58.2. Following closely behind was Owen Kelley, who finished 113th with a time of 23:58.6.
 
Rounding out the top five scorers for the Rebels were Ky Hehir with a time of 24:40.8, and Zack Gilbertson with a time of 24:48.2.
 
Also competing in the championship race were Travis Furmanski, who finished with a time of 25:13.8, and Samuel Ferguson, who crossed the finish line in 25:41.5.
 
Two Rebels also competed in the men's 8K "B" race, which featured 122 runners. Sean Donoghue led the way with a 45th-place finish and a time of 24:41.0, while Aidan Hodge finished 69th with a time of 25:04.1.
 
The Rebel men will return to action on October 30th at the SEC Championships in Columbia, Missouri. The Ole Miss women will compete next at Pre-Nationals on October 16 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
