OXFORD, Miss. – No. 9 Ole Miss football (3-1, 1-1 SEC) travels to Nashville Saturday as Head Coach Pete Golding and the Rebels take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in FirstBank Stadium.
The Commodores are coming off of a 38-14 defeat on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs last Saturday. This is the 99th meeting all-time between Ole Miss and Vanderbilt dating back to 1894. Ole Miss leads the series 56-40-2, 54-40-2 after vacated wins.

Scouting the Commodores
Vanderbilt enters Saturday's matchup with a record of 3-2 on the season and continues to search for their first conference win. The Commodores are led by sixth year Head Coach Clark Lea and average 25.4 points per game and give up 25.0 points per game on average. The Commodores come in as one of the most penalized teams in the country, averaging 9.0 penalties per game ranking 128th out of 134th in all of the FBS. Through the air Vanderbilt has thrown for 1,132 yards on the season and averages 7.6 yards per attempt.
Three Players to Watch: Ole Miss Rebels
- Trinidad Chambliss - Chambliss looks to help the Rebels bounce back following the bye week. So far this season Chambliss has thrown for 1,222 yards through the air and is completing 70.8 % of his passes
- Deuce Alexander - Deuce has been the primary target for Chambliss so far in this young season. The Junior wide receiver has scored in three out of his four games this season and averages 15.9 yards per reception.
- Keaton Thomas - Thomas has continued to prove himself within the Rebels defensive backfield. The Baylor transfer leads the team with 29 total tackles on the season.
- Jared Curtis - The five star true freshman quarterback did not appear in last week's game due to a bruised knee injury. The Commodores turned to Senior QB Blaze Berlowitz in last week's loss. Should he be ready to go this week the Rebels defense will be tested once again.
- Junior Sherrill - The Senior wide receiver leads the Commodore receiving core with 474 receiving yards on the season. In last week's matchup versus Georgia, Sherrill went for a season high seven receptions for 107 yards and a score.
- CJ Heard - Heard leads the team with 38 total tackles and ranks second on the team with 3 sacks on the season. In last week's matchup the Junior recorded 9 total tackles, 8 of them being solo.
