The Rebels will now turn their sights to the NCAA Championship, May 16-21, at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, in Carlsbad, California. The NCAA Championship will ultimately feature 30 teams and six individuals from non-qualifying teams. Head Coach Kory Henkes has now guided Ole Miss to six of the last seven NCAA Championships.
Ole Miss turned in the second-lowest team score on Wednesday with a 5-over, 289, behind only 4th-ranked South Carolina. No team posted an under-par score over the final 36 holes of play.
Svarvar had the low 54-hole score for Ole Miss, posting a 212 (-1) at Birdwood Golf Course. The third place finish marks the best of her freshman campaign. Svarvar’s previous best came back in the fall at the Illini Women’s Invitational (Oct. 7-8) where she finished tied for seventh. Her final round score of 1-under, 70, marked her ninth round in red figures on the season. Svarvar was one of only three players to finish under par for the week.
Nicole Gal tallied her fourth top-10 finish of the season, placing tied for ninth with a score of 215 (+2). The Oakville, Ontario, native started and ended her day on Wednesday with a birdie at No. 10 and No. 9.
Flippa Sundquist and Sophie Linder both wrapped play in Charlottesville with top-25 finishes. Sunquist finished tied for 13th with a score of 216 (+3), while Linder tied for 23rd at 220 (+7).
Rounding out the Rebel lineup in Virginia was Caitlyn Macnab. Macnab shot a final round 73 (+2) to finish at 14-over for the regional and in 39th place.
