Macnab Wins SEC Individual Title, Women’s Golf Advances to Match Play at SEC Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. – For the first time in program history, Ole Miss women's golf has an individual SEC champion.
Caitlyn Macnab shot to the top of the leaderboard following a tremendous third round 65 (-5) at the 2025 SEC Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday to secure top medalist honors.
Ole Miss finished stroke play in fourth place with a three-day total of 839 (-1) following its best round score of 277 (-3) at Pelican Golf Club. The Rebels, who advanced to their fifth match play appearance in six of the last conference championships, will square off against Mississippi State in Thursday's quarterfinals.

Backed by seven total birdies, four coming on her final six holes, Macnab's final round proved to be her best as the senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, went 5-under par to pull away from the field. Macnab's tournament score of 201 (-9) sat four strokes above second place and marks the lowest 54-hole score on a par 70 course in program history. Dating back to her last tournament in South Carolina, Macnab has tallied six straight rounds in the 60s.
With four medalist finishes to her name in only two seasons as an Ole Miss Rebel, Macnab has tied the program record for wins previously set by Julia Johnson. Macnab led the field in par-4 scoring (-7) and tied for the second most total birdies (15)
Nicole Gal matched her second round score on the final day, going even par to finish stroke play in a tie for 18th at 211 (+1). The junior has now placed in the top 20 in five of the last six tournaments Ole Miss has competed in and has a career-best 14 rounds even or below par on the season.
Subbing in for the final round, freshman Larissa Carrillo notched her fifth collegiate round at even or below par, earning a scorecard of 70 (E) to count towards Ole Miss' final score.
Not far behind, Sophie Linder shot 2-over in the third round to see herself into a tie for 31st with a 54-hole score of 214 (+4). The Carthage, Tennessee, native made 37 pars at the Pelican Golf Course, tying Gal for the most by any Rebel on the team.
Rounding out the lineup was Kajsalotta Svarvar who went 5-over on the day to bring her tournament scorecard to 218 (+8), earning the freshman a share of 51st.
Ole Miss and in-state rival Mississippi State will begin their quarterfinal match at 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
