No. 23 Women’s Golf Wins Season Opener at Boilermaker Classic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 23 Ole Miss women's golf secured their 20th team title of the Kory Henkes era with a victory at the Boilermaker Classic. Ole Miss posted (862, -2), highlighted by a final round of (284, -4) to edge Indiana by one stroke.
Matilda Björkman had quite the freshman debut, finishing T3 with a score of (213, -3). Björkman got her final round going on the par 4 7th when she drove the green. She would make a long eagle putt to get into red figures on the day and posted one-under in her final round highlighted by three birdies and the eagle.
Kajsalotta Svarvar was even keeled as always, finishing T5 at (214, -2), marking the second top five finish of her career.
Sophie Linder and Filippa Sundquist both finished inside the top 20. Linder had the low round on the day for Ole Miss, firing a three-under 69 to finish in 12th place. Sundquist finished T16 at (220, +4).
Nicole Gal finished T18 to place best among all players who competed as individuals.
The season opening win marks the third time in the Henkes era that Ole Miss has won its first tournament to start a season. The Rebels led the field in par 5 scoring on the week and tallied 50 birdies as a team.
