Women’s Tennis Falls Short Against No. 18 Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 54 Ole Miss women's tennis fell short in a tough matchup against No. 18 Alabama, 4-0, on Sunday.  
 
The Rebels (9-5, 2-3 SEC) found themselves down one in doubles, despite a win on court one brought by Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher and Ludmila Kareisová. The duo is now 15-7 on the year with an 8-3 dual mark after an undefeated week of competition. Alabama (9-4, 3-2 SEC) had momentum on its side going into singles.
 
Two Rebels won their first sets on their respective courts, Emily Welker in the second slot and Rachel Krzyzak on the sixth.
 
Ultimately, the Rebels fell on three courts that clinched the match for the Crimson Tide. The remaining courts went unfinished. 
 
Up next, Ole Miss will return home to face South Carolina on Friday, March 14 at 3 p.m., followed by another home matchup taking on Georgia on Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
