Men’s Tennis Captures SEC and Ranked Win in Saturday Doubleheader

OXFORD, Miss - The No. 64 Ole Miss men's tennis team welcomed LSU and No. 74 North Alabama to the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center for a doubleheader event on Saturday, where the Rebels defeated the Tigers, 4-3, and the Lions, 4-0.

Ole Miss (9-3, 1-2 SEC) began the day by squaring off against LSU (8-7, 0-4 SEC) in the morning for its first SEC showdown in Oxford. The Rebels walked away with an exciting 4-3 win over the Tigers to tally the Rebel's first SEC win of the 2025 season.
After dropping the doubles point, the Rebels got to work in singles play. Rebel veteran Noah Schlagenhauf did what he does best and defeated his opponent Sasa Markovic, 6-1, 6-3, to put Ole Miss on the board. This win marked Schlagenhauf's 16th singles win of his junior year campaign.
Marcel Kamrowski found his groove on court two and secured the Rebels second point of the day by defeating LSU's Alessio Vasquez in straight set fashion. The junior Rebel walked away with a 6-3, 6-4 win to give Ole Miss the early lead.
Loan Lestir notched the Rebel's third point in straight sets over his opponent, Aleksi Lofman. The Lille, France, native stayed gritty and earned a 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-3) victory on court four to tie the match up for Ole Miss.
It all came down to court six where Matthieu Chambonniere squared off against LSU's Brock Anderson. The freshman mounted an electric comeback after dropping set one, coming out victorious over LSU's student athlete, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the first match of the day for Ole Miss.

Schlagenhauf and Lestir earned a 6-3 win on court three over North Alabama's Lachlan Brain and Samuel Dominguez Balfour to secure the Rebels first victory on the doubles court. On court two, the freshman french duo of Benjamin Martin and Chambonniere dominated over their opponents, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point for Ole Miss.
Isac Strömberg notched a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over North Alabama's Nazar Fedoryshyn on court three to get things rolling on the singles courts for Ole Miss. This win marked the junior's 11th singles victory of the 2024-25 season.
Chambonniere stayed consistent and captured a straight set 6-2, 6-3 win over his opponent on court 5 to add the third point to the board for the Rebels and to tally his second singles win of the day.
Freshman, Kai Milburn, capped off the day for the Rebels by notching an exciting 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 win over Satoru Nakajima. This marked the Queenstown, New Zealand, native's fifth singles win of his rookie season and clinched the ranked victory for the Rebels.
Ole Miss will be back in action on Thursday, March 6, where they will host the No. 19 Alabama Crimson Tide at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center at 3:00 p.m. CT.
