NEW ORLEANS – As they say in New Orleans, laissez les bons temps rouler.
The Ole Miss football team spent its first full day in The Big Easy by participating in the Allstate Sugar Bowl's annual media day, followed by an hour-and-a-half walk thru at the Caesars Superdome.
The Rebels and Bulldogs will kick off the CFP quarterfinal matchup Thursday evening at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
The Rebels began the day answering questions from local and national media members at the Allstate Sugar Bowl media day event held Tuesday morning.
"Really happy to be here and the transition yesterday was pretty smooth," Golding said. "We had a couple of practices at home in Oxford prepping for Georgia. Today we'll have our normal Thursday no-sweat walk thru in the Superdome ... The guys have been in a good place and working extremely hard."
The 2026 Allstate Sugar Bowl will be Ole Miss' 43rd bowl appearance in program history, as well as its 11th appearance all-time in the Sugar Bowl. On the field, the Rebels' all-time bowl record stands at 27-15 (including a vacated victory in the 2013 BBVA Compass Bowl).
Entering the 2025 season and per the NCAA record books, Ole Miss leads the SEC and is tied for third nationally with a .643 bowl winning percentage, while also tied for 11th nationally at 27 bowl wins and 22nd nationally at Ole Miss' 42 prior bowl appearances. Ole Miss is 13-4 in its last 17 bowl games on the field, including a streak of six straight victories from 2002 to 2013.
"I'm just super excited for our guys, playing in the Superdome and it being a playoff game," Golding said. "They've earned the opportunity to play in this game and it's just been really special."Gallery: (12-30-2025) Sugar Bowl Media Day
