Little is Sixth Rebel in Last Five Years Selected to Prestigious Team

ATLANTA – The award-winning week continued for Ole Miss junior Greg Little as he was named to the Walter Camp All-America team as a second team selection, as announced by the organization Thursday night at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Little becomes the sixth Rebel in the last five years to be earn All-American honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation joining Senquez Golson (2014), Robert Nkemdiche (2015), Laquon Treadwell (2015), Laremy Tunsil (2015) and Evan Engram (2016). This is the 129th edition of the Walter Camp All-America team – the nation's oldest All-America team.

Little, a junior out of Allen, Texas, has anchored the Ole Miss offensive line, appearing in every game at left tackle for the last three seasons. Heralded as one of the top NFL Draft prospects for 2019, Little earned first team All-SEC honors from both the Associated Press and the league coaches earlier in the week. He was also named one of six finalists for the 2018 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, becoming the first offensive lineman ever to be named a finalist for the Texas-specific award.

He was part of an Ole Miss offensive line that helped protect one of the top offensive units in the country. Ole Miss ranks ninth in the country in total offense and fifth in passing yards. Little was a key anchor on the left side of the line that paved the way for Scottie Phillips, who ranks second in the SEC with 14 total touchdowns.

The 2018 Walter Camp All-America team will be honored at the organization's national awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 at the Yale University Commons in New Haven, Connecticut. Major award winners (Distinguished American-Archie Manning, Man of the Year-Mike Golic, and Perseverance Award-Jake Olson of USC) will also be honored that evening.

Walter Camp, "The Father of American Football," first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp - a former Yale University athlete and football coach - is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side. The Walter Camp Football Foundation - a New Haven based all-volunteer group - was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team.
