OXFORD, Miss. - Even in the midst of a busy spring football schedule and their academic pursuits, members of the Ole Miss football team were able to take a trip to the state's capital city last Thursday when they visited the governor's mansion and Batson Children's Hospital.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant invited the team to Jackson to present Ole Miss with the Governor's Award for Athletic Excellence in recognition of the Rebels' 25-17 win over Georgia Tech in the 2013 Music City Bowl.

Before visiting with the governor, the team went to Batson Children's Hospital, which is part of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, to visit with children and staff there.
