Final Results

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina native Taelor Rubin (Raleigh, N.C.) fired a 4-over par 76 to lead the Ole Miss women's golf team in final round action at the UNC Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday. The Rebels finished in 18th place with a 935 (307-310-318 -935) and Alison Hovatter (Meridianville, Ala.) was Ole Miss' top finisher tied for 56th with a score of 229.

Duke claimed the team title with a three-day score of 864 (288-286-288 -862) just two strokes ahead of current top-ranked team South Carolina with took runner up honors with a score of 864 (287-288-289-864). Virginia's Lauren Diaz-Yi took medalist honors, finishing 7-under par with a score of 209 (70-69-70 -209).

"This wasn't our best tournament and we have a short time to regroup before heading to the Mercedes Benz Invitational in Tennessee," said head coach Michele Drinkard. "We'll focus on getting better this week and see if we can't have better results next weekend."

Hovatter fired a 77 in the final round, while Maria Toennessen (Grimstad, Norway) carded an 80. Madisen Bentley (University Place, Wash.) and Abby Newton (Katy, Texas) rounded out the Ole Miss contingent with rounds of 87 and 85, respectively.

Ole Miss is next in action at the Mercedes Benz Invitational hosted by Tennessee Friday-Sunday (Oct. 17-19).
