OLE MISS POSTGAME NOTES
SERIES NOTES
* Tonight's game was the 98th meeting all-time between Ole Miss and Mississippi State dating back to 1901, and the 74th edition of the "Battle of the Golden Egg."
* Ole Miss now leads the all-time series 55-37-6, and holds a 49-20-5 advantage in the "Egg Bowl."
* The Rebels are now 19-9-3 all-time in Starkville, including 17-7-3 in the "Egg Bowl."
* The Rebels have lost three of the last four meetings in the series.

TEAM NOTES
* Ole Miss is on a three-game losing streak for the first time since dropping three in a row to end the 1998 regular season.
* The Rebels are now 20-6 under Head Coach David Cutcliffe when leading at halftime.
* Ole Miss has been outscored 52-13 in the second half during the last two games.

* Has thrown for at least 200 yards in 10 straight games to extend his school record streak.
* Set new Ole Miss single-season records tonight for completions and passing attempts ... Manning has 236 completions this season to break Stewart Patridge's 1997 record of 228, and has attempted 368 passes this season to eclipse Patridge's record of 352 in 1997 ... Broke Patridge's completions record with a 24-yard strike to Jason Armstead to set-up Joe Gunn's 1-yard TD run with 31 seconds left in the first half to give Ole Miss a 21-12 lead.
* With his two TD passes tonight, Manning tied Charlie Conerly's 1947 school single-season record for TDs responsible for with 27.
* Manning moved to within five yards of Stewart Patridge's Ole Miss single-season record for passing yards. Manning has thrown for 2,662 yards this season. Patridge set the mark with 2,667 in 1997.
* Extended his school record streak of consecutive games with at least one TD pass to 11.
* Has thrown at least two TD passes in five straight games and in 8-of-10 games this season.
* The 16 completions and 213 passing yards were season lows. It also marked just the second game this season that Manning failed to complete at least 20 passes. The only other time was at Kentucky on Sept. 29 when he was 19-of-36 for 268 yards ... His previous low for passing yards was 233 last weekend against Georgia.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
* Ole Miss has scored on its opening possession in five of 10 games this season - all touchdowns.
* Junior Ross Barkley caught his first career TD pass with a 19-yard reception from Eli Manning with 3:15 remaining to pull Ole Miss within 36-28.
* With 28 points tonight Ole Miss broke the school single-season record for points scored. The Rebels have scored 353 points this season to break the 1959 team's record of 329.

SOPHOMORE WR CHRIS COLLINS (GLOSTER, MISS.)
* Caught six passes for 110 yards to tie the Ole Miss career record for 100-yard receiving games with four, set by Floyd Franks (1968-70). He holds the Ole Miss single-season record for 100-yard receiving games with four.
* Became the fourth player in school history to catch at least 50 passes in a season. He is fourth on the school single-season list for receptions with 51, five shy of Le May Thomas' 1995 record of 56.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
* Sophomore DB Marcus Woodson saw his first action since the Alabama contest on Oct. 13, after missing the past four games due to injury.
* Ole Miss allowed a season-high 263 yards passing. It was also the first time the Rebels have allowed over 200 yards passing in a game this season.
* The Rebels have allowed an opposing back to rush for over 100 yards in 6-of-10 games this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
* Redshirt freshman PK Jonathan Nichols broke Cloyce Hinton's Ole Miss single-season record for extra points of 39 set in 1971. Nichols has made 42 extra points this season in 44 attempts.
* Sophomore DE Charlie Anderson recovered the Rebels' onside kick attempt in the fourth quarter.

MISSISSIPPI STATE POSTGAME NOTES
* Tonight's attendance of 51,112 was the largest in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field history, breaking the old mark of 44,114 set last season vs. Alabama ... State's new east side upper deck was open to the public for the first time tonight.
* Tonight marked the 98th meeting between Mississippi State and Ole Miss ... UM still leads the series 55-37-6 ... MSU is now 7-4 versus the Rebels under head coach Jackie Sherrill.
* With both teams having Sept. 15 games rescheduled for Dec. 1, tonight's MSU-Ole Miss clash marks the first time since 1945 that both teams will have an additional regular-season game following the Egg Bowl (State will host BYU on Dec. 1, while UM will entertain Vanderbilt) ... It will be the first time since 1946 that the Bulldogs have not ended their season against the Rebels ... It is the first time since 1974 that UM has not ended its season against State.
* MSU is now 10-8 on ESPN all-time, 7-2 as part of the network's Thursday night package.
* MSU's total offense of 462 yards marks the most since the Bulldogs tallied 538 vs. Alabama last season.
* State's 36 points in the game were the most since MSU scored 43 in last year's Independence Bowl.
* State's defense has recorded at least one interception in 38 of its last 46 games played ... MSU has posted two or more pickoffs in 19 of those 38 contests ... State picked off Mississippi's Eli Manning three times tonight ... Manning had only three INTs coming in.
* The Bulldogs are now 58-15-1 (.791) under Jackie Sherrill when outrushing their opponent, 12-40-1 (.236) when not.
* MSU is now 39-8 (.830) under Jackie Sherrill when scoring 25 or more points, 23-3 (.885) since 1996... The 'Dogs are just 31-47-2 (.400) during that span when they haven't posted 25 or more points.
* Since 1994, MSU is now 33-6 (.846) when recording two or more takeways than its opponent ... The 'Dogs are 8-23 (.258) during the same span when posting fewer takeaways.
* Over the last five seasons (1997-01, 58 games), MSU is now 29-9 (.763) when rushing for 100-yard plus yards ... Conversely, the Dogs are 7-13 (.350) when failing to run for 100 yards.
* Since the beginning of the 1997 season, the Bulldogs are now 15-3 (.833) when scoring on their first offensive possession of the game (TD or FG).
* With his 121 yards rushing tonight, TB Dicenzo Miller eclipsed the 2,000-yard rushing mark for his career, the eighth Bulldog ever to do so ... Miller now has 2,090 career rushing yards on 391 carries, a 5.35 yards-per-carry average ... His career yardage total also moves him into seventh place on MSU's all-time list, surpassing Kenny Roberts (2,070, 1989-92).
* Miller's 121 yards also marked the ninth 100-yard game of his career, the third this season.
* With his 79 yards rushing tonight, TB Dontae Walker moved into 12th place on MSU's career rushing list ... Walker now has exactly 1,700 career rushing yards, moving him past Keffer McGee (1,647, 1994-96).
* Walker's three rushing TDs marked the third time in his career that he has scored three rushing touchdowns in a game ... The other two came in consecutive contests lsat season, the first at Ole Miss to end the regular season and the second in the Independence Bowl vs. Texas A&M ... Walker now has 17 career rushing touchdowns (excluding bowl games), which move him into 10th place on MSU's all-time list, surpassing McGee (16, 1994-96) in that category as well.
* QB Kevin Fant's 263 yards passing tonight were a new career high and were the most by an MSU signal caller since Derrick Taite has 288 yards at Auburn in 1995.
* FL Justin Jenkins' five catches for 116 yards tonight were both new career highs ... The 116 yards were the highest output by an MSU receiver this season and the most since Eric Moulds had 183 at Tennessee in 1995.
* CB Korey Banks' two interceptions in the game marked the most by a Bulldog since teammate Shawn Byrdsong had two last season versus Arkansas.
* SE Ray Bay Bivines' seven-yard touchdown run inthe fourth quarter was the first score of his career of any kind.
* Bivines' three catches in the game tied a career-high and his 47 yards receiving set a new personal best.
