No. 19 Men's Golf Makes Debut at Inverness Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. – The No.19 ranked Ole Miss men's golf team will travel to Toledo, Ohio to compete in the Inverness Intercollegiate, marking the Rebels' first tournament of the season. A portion of Monday's and Tuesday's rounds can be viewed on ESPN+ with an approximate airtime of 12-4 pm (CT).

INVERNESS CLUB HISTORY
Founded in 1903, Inverness Club was designed as a champion golf course by renowned architect Donald Ross in 1916. The club is rich in history and tradition as it has hosted some of the game's most prestigious events, including the 2021 Solheim Cup, four U.S. Opens, two U.S. Senior Opens, two PGA Championships and one U.S. Amateur.

DEBUT AT TOLEDO
After spending the past three seasons competing at the Knoxville Collegiate to start the year, the Rebels are heading north to Toledo, Ohio for the Inverness Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played at the historic Inverness Club, a championship venue that is set to host the 2027 U.S. Women's Open, 2029 U.S Amateur, 2033 U.S Girls' Junior Amateur, 2036 U.S Women's Amateur and 2045 U.S Open.

PRESEASON BUZZ
Ole Miss entered the season with plenty of preseason momentum after earning a spot in all major preseason rankings and was ranked as high as No.19 by the Golf Channel. Cooper Claycomb also received preseason recognition, after being ranked No.23 in the PGA Tour University Rankings.

RECAP OF 2025-26
Last season, the Rebels made history by capturing their first SEC Championship since 1984, finishing the year ranked No.9 nationally and earning the No. 8 seed at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California. The historic campaign also saw head coach Chris Malloy named the 2026 SEC Coach of the Year and recognized as a finalist for the Dave Williams Award. Ole Miss would go on to graduate three seniors, and retain four key contributors in Collins Trolio, Finn Meister, Daniel Tolf, and Jacob Blanton, and add five newcomers, including three transfers and two freshmen to round out this new look roster.
