No. 19 Men’s Golf Wraps Up Round One at the Inverness Intercollegiate

TOLEDO, Ohio – The No.19 ranked Ole Miss men's golf team closes out the opening round at the Inverness Intercollegiate tied for 12th, posting a team score of 15-over. (299)
The Donald Ross-designed course lived up to its reputation for difficulty today, with Iowa being the only team to finish under par at (283, -1) and the highest individual score was a 3-under 68.
Cooper Claycomb made his Ole Miss debut, getting the Rebels off to a strong start by opening his round with a birdie on the second hole and following it up with a birdie on 14. He remained consistent throughout the day, finishing tied for 8th and just three shots off the lead sitting at even par heading into the second round.
Freshman Tomas Restrepo made his collegiate debut, finishing the opening round tied for 37th after posting a 4-over par 75.
Eduardo Matarazzo would finish round one tied for 51st after posting a 5-over par 76. Collins Trolio claimed a birdie during his round, recording one on the fifth hole. He would close out the day at 6-over par.
Finn Meister also recorded a birdie on the back nine, finishing the day at 7-over par.
The Rebels will return to action tomorrow for the second round of the Inverness Intercollegiate at Inverness Golf Club. Coverage of the second round will be available live on ESPN+ from 12-4 p.m. CT.
