Softball Drops Finale at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The Ole Miss softball program fell short of a series sweep at Auburn, falling 13-3 on Sunday afternoon at Jane B. Moore Field.
The Rebels (30-22, 4-17 SEC) built an early advantage against the Tigers (25-24, 4-17 SEC) but a big fourth inning from Auburn would doom the Rebels. Madi George drove in her 56th run of the season, setting a new single-season record at Ole Miss in the loss.
Auburn took an early lead behind a sacrifice fly and error in the first inning, but the Rebels were able to generate a quick response in the top of the second inning.
Singles from Grace Thompson and Tenly Grisham created opportunities for the top of the order. Mackenzie Pickens was the first to take advantage, driving in two with an RBI single to tie the game at 2-2. After a Persy Llamas single, George followed her up with an RBI base knock to take a 3-2 lead.
The Rebels kept the Tigers off the scoreboard in the second and third inning, but the Tigers were able to generate what became an 11-run fourth inning to take the lead for good.
The Rebels return home for the final time in 2026, hosting No. 17 Mississippi State for a three-game series. Game one is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. CT and will be streamed via SEC Network Plus.
