GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ole Miss men's tennis heads to Gainesville, Florida, Nov. 5-8, to compete in the ITA Sectional Championships, hosted by the University of Florida. The four-day tournament will provide the Rebels another opportunity to compete against top talent from across the region as the fall season continues.
Ole Miss enters the tournament following a historic performance at the ITA Southern Regional Championships, where the Rebels swept all three available NCAA qualifying spots, earning both singles qualifications and the doubles qualification. The accomplishment marked the first time in Southern Region history that a team swept all three NCAA qualifying spots at the same tournament.
The Rebels secured multiple NCAA individual championship qualifications, with Moritz Kudernatsch and Pietro Pampanin qualifying as a doubles team, Igor Kudriashov and Kai Milburn qualifying as a doubles team, and Niccolo Baroni and Kudriashov earning singles qualifications.
Six Rebels will represent Ole Miss in Gainesville, including Baroni, Vlado Jankanj, Kudernatsch, Mason Landreth, Pampanin and Stefan Vedovelli. Head coach Jake Jacoby and assistant coach Jason Kros will lead the group, with athletic trainer Erin Moncrief accompanying the team.
The ITA Sectional Championships will feature top competitors from across the region, providing the Rebels with another opportunity to build momentum heading into the remainder of the fall season.
The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships are scheduled for Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia.
