NFL Rebels Update: Conference Championships
1/29/2026 | Football
OXFORD, Miss. – Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the status of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL.
Four former Rebels saw action in the Conference Championships, all four playing in the AFC championship game. Offensive lineman Ben Brown of the New England Patriots punched his ticket to the Super Bowl, where he will take on the Seattle Seahawks. Brown played for St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. At St. Aloysius, Brown became the No. 1 offensive tackle in the state for the 2017 recruiting class. He also earned second team Small School All-American honors from MaxPreps, as well as first team All-State by the Clarion Ledger. At Ole Miss, Brown started in 34 games in his collegiate career from 2018 to 2020. In his 2021 season for the Rebels, he only started six games, as his 40-game consecutive start streak came to an end because of a season-ending surgery. In the NFL this season, with the Patriots, Brown started four games and played 100% of offensive snaps. His PFF offensive grade of 66.8 ranked third among AFC East guards (min. 300 snaps).
#77 Ben Brown | OL | New England Patriots

#1 Evan Engram | TE | Denver Broncos
Caught two passes for nineteen yards. Engram’s PFF offense grade of 71.7 ranked second on the Broncos’ offense in the game.
#93 D.J. Jones | DT | Denver Broncos
Finished with six tackles, 1.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits. Jones’ 1.5 sacks set a new career high.
