CARLSBAD, Calif. – The No. 3 Ole Miss men's golf team sits tied for 14th after round one at the NCAA Championships. The Rebels carded a team score of (293, +5) and were led by Michael La Sasso who carded an opening round of four-under 68.

The Rebels settled into the round though, shooting three-under as a team on the second nine.
La Sasso had the low round of the day for Ole Miss, carding seven birdies on his way to 68. He made the turn at even par after a disappointing bogey on the par 5 18th. He would quickly flush the frustration though and went on to birdie five of his final nine holes.
He began his run with a tap in birdie on the par 5 second, after reaching the green in two. He then rattled off three straight birdies on four, five and six to get to four-under par. After dropping a shot at seven, La Sasso responded with a birdie on eight, before closing out his round with a par.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native sits T4 and two strokes off the lead.
