MEET NOTES

• Two weeks ago at both the Stanford Invite and the Joe Walker Invite the Rebel men and women totaled 12 national top-50 ranked performances, seven within the top-25. At Stanford, the Rebel distance runners clocked several fast times that should rank within regional qualifying contention -- led by a new school record in the men's 10K by senior transfer Kidus Misgina.

• Misgina opened his first outdoor season with the Rebels in dominant fashion, with his 10K time of 28:20.19 shattering the program record by 24-seconds. Misgina currently ranks 24th in the NCAA, sixth in the East Region and fourth in the SEC, and this weekend in Virginia he is one of four Rebel men slated to run in the 5K alongside seniors Elyas Ayyoub, Benjamin Bayless and junior Aiden Britt.

• In the 10K at Stanford, Britt ran what would have been a large improvement over the school record as well at his 26-second PR of 28:26.41, which made him second-best all-time at Ole Miss behind Misgina and is currently good for 23rd in East Region. Bayless' 29:29.94 also made the all-time lists at Ole Miss in 12th place.

• Senior Toby Gillen and junior Evan Thornton-Sherman put together career-best performances in the 5K at Stanford, and both are slated to run in the 1500-meter this week at Virginia alongside teammates Ky Hehir, Landen McNair and Gabe Scales.

• Gillen ran a career-best 13:26.92 that fell within a half-second of the Ole Miss record of 13:26.58 set by Anthony Camerieri back at the 2023 Stanford Invite. That time by Gillen currently ranks sixth in the nation, as well as third in both the East Region and the SEC.

• Thornton-Sherman charted a huge PR of his own in an earlier section of the 5K at 13:38.09, moving him up to fourth in Ole Miss history and currently resting at 32nd nationally, 14th in the region and fifth in the SEC.

• As far as the Rebel women headed to Virginia, senior Beth Arentz, junior Sophie Baumann and junior Sarah Schiffmann are all set to run in the 5K, while freshman Ella Johnson will lace up in the 1500-meter. Baumann and Arentz ran the 5K two weeks ago at Stanford, with Baumann's 16:15.29 ranking 39th in the East and eighth in the SEC, and Arentz' 16:16.87 sitting 42nd in the East and ninth in the conference.

• Senior Emilia Mikszuta will also feature in the 3000-meter steeplechase, where she will look to improve her season-best 10:26.93 from her season-opener at the Ole Miss Classic on March 21. That time fell within a second of her career-best 10:26.00 ran during her time at Cal Baptist.

• Continuing to lead the way for Ole Miss and the NCAA is All-American sophomore Akaoma Odeluga with her outstanding performance in the shot put at LSU's Battle on the Bayou three weeks ago. Her meet record heave of 18.93m/62-01.25 still leads the NCAA by more than one foot, and on the 2025 absolute lists she ranks sixth in the United States and 15th worldwide. Odeluga is set to compete in the invitational sections of both the shot and hammer at Florida this weekend.

• Odeluga ranks second in Ole Miss history behind three-time Olympian Raven Saunders (19.76m/64-10). That throw earned her SEC Field Athlete of the Week honors, and it launched her all the way to No. 13 in women's collegiate history outdoors. Odeluga is one of just 14 collegiate women all-time to break 62 feet in the shot put outdoors, and alongside Saunders she is one of two Rebel women to do so regardless of season.

• Odeluga also posted a career-best 61.80m/202-9 in the hammer that ranks seventh in Ole Miss history and No. 35 in the NCAA this season. With that performance, Odeluga became the first woman in Ole Miss history and one of only three in collegiate history to break 62 feet in the shot put and 200 feet in the hammer. In that category, Odeluga stands alongside only former Arizona State great Maggie Ewen and current Colorado State senior Mya Lesnar.

• This weekend in Florida marks the outdoor season debut for three-time reigning national shot put champion Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan, who is slated to compete in both invitational sections of the shot and the hammer.

• Robinson-O'Hagan has been a mainstay on the watch list for The Bowerman this season, and was a semifinalist for The Bowerman in 2024 following his spectacular sophomore campaign. He is the first Ole Miss men's thrower to make the watch list, and only the fourth in Rebel men's history overall alongside Olympians Ricky Robertson (2012), Isiah Young (2013) and Sam Kendricks (2014).

• Robinson-O'Hagan is coming off an indoor season that saw him secure his third consecutive national title in the shot put (20.49m/67-02.75), while also taking fifth in the toughest NCAA weight throw final in collegiate history. Those finishes each earned All-America status and contributed 14 NCAA points to the Rebel men's 20-point total and tie for 10th-place overall, which was the second-best indoor finish in Ole Miss men's history.

• As a sophomore in 2024, Robinson-O'Hagan became the youngest to sweep the NCAA men's shot put titles indoors and outdoors since 1989, as well as the fourth-youngest to do so all-time. Overall last season, Robinson-O'Hagan claimed those two NCAA titles, four First-Team All-America awards, 26 NCAA points, four SEC titles and 40 points en route to sweeping the USTFCCCA South Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year and SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Year awards indoors and outdoors. He also claimed both the SEC Cliff Harper Trophy indoors and the SEC Commissioner's Trophy outdoors after scoring 20 points at each conference meet.

• In less than three full seasons with the Rebels, Robinson-O'Hagan has laid waste to the Ole Miss record book, claiming top marks in the weight throw (24.35m/79-10.75) and shot put (21.11m/69-03.25) indoors, and the hammer (74.54m/244-7) and shot put (20.98m/68-10) outdoors. He already owns seven career SEC titles (four indoor), a whopping 84 career SEC points scored in addition to his now three national titles, 10 All-America awards and 47 NCAA points.

• All-American junior Arvesta Troupe continues to lead the Rebel men with his outdoor personal-best of 2.20m/7-02.50 in the high jump three weeks ago. Troupe currently sits at fifth nationally, second in the East and leads the SEC. Troupe is one of four Rebel men all-time to reach 7-foot-2 both indoors and outdoors, and this weekend at Florida is he scheduled to compete in the invitational section of the high jump.

• Junior Bryson Smith improved on his hammer PR for the third consecutive week at Ole Miss' Joe Walker Invite two weeks ago with a career-best of 69.12m/226-9 that moved him to No. 10 nationally, first in the SEC and third in Ole Miss history. Senior Jake Dalton's season-best from two weeks ago of 68.37m/224-4 ranks close behind Smith at No. 13 nationally and third in the SEC, while junior Mason Hickel's career-best 63.92m/209-8 ranks 43rd in the NCAA and ninth in Ole Miss history. Smith and Dalton will join Robinson-O'Hagan in the invitational men's hammer at Florida this weekend, while Hickel and senior Costen Campion will compete in the open section.

• Transfer sophomore Lizzie Hatton set an all-conditions career-best in the long jump two weeks ago at the Joe Walker Invite of 6.34m/20-9.75 (+2.9), tying her fourth in school history and ranking her 13th nationally, fourth in the East and third in the conference.

• All-American sophomore Mensi Stiff remains in the NCAA top-15 of the women's shot put alongside Odeluga at her season-best heave of 17.01m/55-09.75, currently ranking 15th nationally and eighth both in the East Region and the SEC.

• Senior Dieusi Armand climbed up the ranking in the triple jump at the Joe Walker Invite with an all-conditions career-best leap of 13.02m/42-8.75 (+2.2). That jump ranks her second in Ole Miss history, as well as 19th in the NCAA, seventh in the East and sixth in the SEC this season. Armand is now one of only three Rebel women to leap 42-feet outdoors along with Olympian Brittney Reese and freshman Madison Martinez. -- who ranks third all-time at Ole Miss in addition to 32nd nationally this season at her career-best 12.92m/42-04.75 (+0.0) from LSU last month.

• Junior Carson Turner and freshman Max Armstrong found success in the 800-meter at the Joe Walker Invite. Turner finished second in the invitational section at a career-best 1:47.85, placing him 14th in Ole Miss history, 21st in the NCAA and third in the SEC this season, while Armstrong followed in third with a career-best 1:48.06, placing him 27th nationally.

• Ole Miss currently has three men's pole vaulters within the national top-50, led by senior Drew O'Connor at his season-best 5.30m/17-04.50 from LSU last month that ranks 30th nationally, 11th in the East and sixth in the SEC. Other ranked Rebel vaulters include junior Logan Kelley at 5.28m/17-03.75 (42nd NCAA, 16th East) and John Kendricks at 5.26m/17-3 (45th NCAA, 18th East).

• The Rebel men's relay teams delivered standout performances at the Ole Miss Classic and Joe Walker Invite, securing victories in both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter events. The 4x1 squad – composed of junior Joseph Michel and freshmen Jordan Urrutia, Wesley Todd and Tarique Wright – clocked a 39.71 finish at the Ole Miss Classic, the fastest by a Rebel 4x1 since 2015 that ranks fifth in Ole Miss history and 25th in the East Region currently.

• Urrutia also played a key role on the 4x4 at the Joe Walker Invite alongside Todd, Armstrong and Turner, running a blistering anchor split of 46.01, that ultimately led the squad to an overall victory at 3:07.91 – the fastest relay at Ole Miss outdoors since 2012 that ranks 14th in school history. Turner also put in a sub-47 split with a 46.90 third leg.

• In the 400-meter dash earlier that day, Urrutia clocked in at 46.84 -- the fastest by a Rebel men's athlete since 2004 that moved Urrutia into 13th in school history.

• Other Rebels currently within their respective NCAA top-50 event rankings include: senior Hannah Ielfield in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase (26th, 10:15.94); sophomore Skylar Soli in the women's hammer (33rd, 61.94m/203-2); senior Iangelo Atkinstall-Daley in the men's triple jump (46th, 15.33m/50-03.50; +0.8); and senior Ainhoa Brea in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase (43rd, 10:20.76).
