MEET NOTES

• The Rebel men came in at No. 13 in the Week Three USTFCCCA National Rating Index, with Ole Miss as a whole coming off two high-powered meets at Arkansas' Razorback Invitational two weeks ago and the New Mexico Classic last week. In Albuquerque, the Rebel men took third in the team standings and the women eighth.

• Helping push the 13th-ranked Rebels are three performances currently within the NCAA top-10 from junior and Bowerman watch list member Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan in the shot put (1st, 21.02m/68-11.75) and weight throw (3rd, 24.17m/79-03.75), as well as fellow junior Arvesta Troupe in the high jump (6th, 2.21m/7-3).

• Robinson-O'Hagan currently ranks sixth in the world in the shot put at that season-best set at Arkansas, which is within an inch of his overall career-best 21.05m/69-00.75 that won him the first of two NCAA titles as a sophomore in 2024. Earlier, Robinson-O'Hagan set the best throws in available records since at least 2008 that early into the season both on Dec. 6 (20.30m/66-07.25) and Jan. 11 (20.51m/67-03.50).

• Robinson-O'Hagan's NCAA No. 3 mark in the weight throw not only won him the crown at the New Mexico Classic, but it also isolated him in the Ole Miss record book as the only thrower to surpass 24 meters and moved him up to 12th in collegiate history.

• Robinson-O'Hagan is one of only three athletes in collegiate history to record 21 meters in the shot put and 24 meters in the weight throw alongside North Dakota State's Payton Otterdahl and Ohio State's Dan Taylor -- the latter of whom was also coached by Ole Miss throws coach John Smith.

• Robinson-O'Hagan ranks third in collegiate history indoors in combined weight throw and shot put distance at 45.22m behind Otterdahl (45.92m) and Taylor (45.34m). Robinson-O'Hagan is also now one of only two throwers in collegiate history alongside Otterdahl to ever break 79 feet in the weight (24.17m/79-03.75) and 69 feet in the shot (21.05m/69-00.75).

• At Arkansas, Robinson-O'Hagan joined Otterdahl as the lone two athletes in collegiate history to break 21 meters in the shot put and 23 meters in the weight throw in the same meet after winning the weight throw at 23.05m/75-07.50 and the shot put at that season-best 21.02m/68-11.75. This marked the third such occurrence in collegiate history, with Otterdahl doing so twice during the 2019 season.

• Robinson-O'Hagan has landed on both the preseason watch list and the February update for The Bowerman, collegiate track & field's version of the Heisman Trophy. A semifinalist last season, Robinson-O'Hagan is the first Ole Miss men's thrower to make a watch list and only the fourth in Rebel men's history overall alongside Olympians Ricky Robertson (2012), Isiah Young (2013) and Sam Kendricks (2014). He has also won at least a share of the SEC weekly field athlete award four times this season.

• The Rebel men's weight throwers looked to be a powerful group on paper entering the 2025 season, and have already proven that right with three currently ranked within the national top-40 and five all beyond 20 meters. Junior Bryson Smith is already the second-best in school history behind Robinson-O'Hagan, currently ranking 24th nationally at his career-best 21.81m/71-06.75 from Vanderbilt. Smith and Robinson-O'Hagan are the lone 70-footers in Ole Miss history.

• Also ranked within the top-40 in the men's weight throw is junior Mason Hickel (35th, 21.08m/69-02).

• Junior Arvesta Troupe's sixth-ranked high jump mark, meanwhile, came from the New Mexico Classic, where he cleared that overall career-best 2.21m/7-3. That height is the best by a Rebel men's jumper indoors since 2014, and gives him sole possession of third all-time in Ole Miss history indoors. This season, Troupe's performance currently ranks tied for seventh in the United States.

• Senior Toby Gillen currently owns two top-30 times in just two races so far this indoor season. At Arkansas, Gillen moved into second in Ole Miss history in the 3K after clocking a career-best 7:48.66 that ranks 15th nationally at the moment. Back in December, Gillen opened with a 5K at Boston University's season-opening meet at 13:30.34, currently the No. 24 time in the nation.

• Senior newcomer Kidus Misgina had an excellent 3K of his own in his first race as a Rebel at Arkansas, clocking a career-best 7:51.98 right behind Gillen. Misgina is already the No. 3 performer in the 3K all-time at Ole Miss, and that time currently ranks him 29th collegiately this year.

• At New Mexico, Wesley Todd took down the Ole Miss freshman record in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at a career-best 21.21 (at altitude) -- which makes him the No. 5 performer in school history indoors. Fellow freshman Jordan Urrutia wasn't far behind at 21.24, which ranks him at No. 7 on the Ole Miss indoor list.

• Sophomore Akaoma Odeluga leads the way for the Rebel women, her top performance being her SEC-leading and collegiate No. 4 shot put best of 18.37m/60-03.25 from the Rod McCravy Invitational. That mark currently sits her at No. 12 worldwide and No. 4 in the United States this indoor season.

• At Arkansas, Odeluga beat out reigning NCAA Outdoor champion and 2024 U.S. Olympian Jaida Ross of Oregon by one centimeter, 18.21m/59-9 to Ross' 18.20m/59-08.50.

• Odeluga already ranks third in Ole Miss history indoors at that career-best heave, and it made her one of three 60-footers indoors in Rebel women's history alongside Olympian Raven Saunders (19.56m/64-02.25) and All-American Jalani Davis (18.61m/61-00.75).

• Her performance ranks No. 21 all-time in collegiate history, making Ole Miss one of two schools besides Arizona State with three entrants in the top-25 alongside Saunders (No. 2) and Davis (No. 12).

• In the weight throw, Odeluga currently ranks 15th nationally and third in the SEC at her career-best 21.47m/70-05.25. Odeluga has already improved 11 feet in the weight throw from her freshman PR of 18.25m/59-10.50.

• Fellow sophomore Skylar Soli owns a top-30 mark in the weight throw of her own, currently ranking 23rd nationally and fifth in the SEC at her career-best 20.96m/68-09.25.

• Soli has continued to improve her mark in weight through over the past five meets for a combined improvement of over four feet.
