Women’s Tennis Opens Spring Schedule with Three Weekend Matches

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis opens its spring season on the road against Memphis on Friday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. The team will then host a doubleheader against Arkansas State and Tennessee State on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Rebels competed in five tournaments during the fall campaign and sent three players to the NCAA Individual Championships. Ole Miss looks to redeem itself in Tiger territory after a dropped match against Memphis last season, 5-2. The last time the Rebels faced Tennessee State was in 2023, where both matches were clean sweeps in a doubleheader.

Ludmila Kareisová (Sr.) – Liberec, Czechia
- Secured 40th career singles victory at ITA Regionals
- Earned 50th career doubles win at ITA Sectionals
- 2023 and 2025 NCAA Championships qualifiers in singles, and in doubles in 2025
- Ranked No. 83 in the first ITA rankings of the spring
Emma Kette (Jr.) – Rammelsbach, Germany
- Advanced to semifinals at ITA Sectionals
- Earned 30th career singles win at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic
- Notched 20th career doubles win at the ITA Regionals
Rachel Krzyzak (Sr.) – Milton, Ontario, Canada
- Led the team in singles victories with an overall 18-9 record in 2023-24
- Holds a career singles record of 45-34
Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher (Sr.) - La Perche, France
- Notched final four appearance in doubles with Kareisová at ITA Sectionals in 2024
- Has tallied double-digit wins in doubles all three years of her career
- 2025 NCAA Championships qualifier in singles and doubles
Andrea Nova (So.) – Prague, Czechia
- Recorded first singles win of the year at the June Stewart Invitational
- Came to Ole Miss ranked as high as No. 298 in the ITF Junior Rankings
- Recorded 13 wins in the 2023-24 campaign
Brooklyn Olson (Fr.) – Kansas City, Kansas
- Earned first career singles win at the June Stewart Invitational
- Blue Chip five-star recruit
- Ranked as high as 704 in ITF singles ranking
- Reached Sweet 16 of the Les Petits As Junior Tournament in 2020
Lucie Petruzelova (Sr.) – Zasova, Czech Republic
- Joined Ole Miss after three seasons with Charlotte
- Earned first win as a Rebel at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic
- Secured 70 overall singles wins at ITA Regionals
- Two-time All-Conference USA honors
- 2025 NCAA Championships qualifier in singles
Alice Soulié (Fr.) – Angers, France
- Signed in January 2025
- Reached a career-high No. 413 in the ITF Junior rankings
- Claimed 47 wins in the junior circuit
- Added 31 wins since joining the professional ranks
- Won first career title victory at the J5 Ponts de Ce in her home country of France
FAMILIAR FACES
Ole Miss has five returning players from last year's team. The three-headed monster in seniors Ludmila Kareisová, Rachel Krzyzak and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher will significantly impact this season. The trio contributed 17 of Ole Miss' singles wins in the fall season. In 2024, Kyzyzak and Emma Kette led the team in singles wins with 18 and 17, respectively.
OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE NET
Memphis
The Tigers' roster includes four incoming freshmen to the mix of returners. Senior, and Memphis native, Miriam Grosmann led the team in doubles wins with redshirt senior Alice Amendola last season in the third position. Amendola also went 16-3 between the fourth and fifth slot in singles for the 2023-24 year. Memphis lost Camila Soares after a 9-7 singles season, who sat primarily at the first slot. Sophomore Leonie Moeller finished the 2024 fall season as an ACC Individual finalist.
Arkansas State
Arkansas State will open Sunday's doubleheader with a 2-1 record, with victories over Louisiana Tech and Wyoming. The Red Wolves welcomed four freshmen to the court for the new season. Spain native Carla Muro Castellvi is currently 3-0 in the No. 5 slot for singles, and 2-1 in doubles alongside Sophomore Anna Grigoreva. Grigoreva bounces between the first and second position for both singles and doubles for Arkansas State.
Tennessee State
Four graduate students and two freshmen create the mix of the Tennessee State Tigers. Junior Warona Mdlulwa sat primarily in the first position in the singles lineup for the Tigers and tallied a 7-6 record in that slot last season. Also in the first slot for doubles, Mdlulwa had a mix of partnerships that consisted of Perri Howard and Francisca Gomez. The Tigers' lost fifth year Howard who was a front runner in both singles and doubles for the team.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
A Blue Chip five star recruit out of Kansas City, Kansas, Brookly Olson started her collegiate career as a Rebel this season. She was ranked as high as No. 704 in ITF singles, and the No. 26 recruit in the nation. She made her debut in doubles at the ITA Southern Regionals with Lucie Petruzelova, and advanced to the top 16.
TRANSFER TO THE SIP
The Rebels added Lucie Petruzelova from Charlotte through the transfer portal. Petruzelova spent three seasons at Charlotte and earned a combined 66-25 singles record and 58-42 doubles record. The senior is one win shy of a career record of 75 singles wins after an outstanding run at the ITA Regionals. Petruzelova advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating three opponents in straight sets, including Auburn's Alice Battesi 6-4, 6-1.
TEAM PROMOTION
Early arriving fans will be treated to free Jimmy Johns sandwiches during the doubleheader home opener against Arkansas State and Tennessee State.
