Rifle Drops Match Against Kentucky

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss rifle fell to Kentucky, 4740-4714, on Saturday at the Ole Miss Rifle Range.
Gracie Dinh's impressive freshman campaign reached a new level against the Wildcats (4-0, 2-0 GARC), as she set a personal best aggregate score of 1183. She scored 590-plus in both events for the day. Her score was good enough for fourth place overall on the individual leaderboard.
Lea Horvath, Jordan de Jesus and M'Leah Lambdin also had solid outings for the Rebels (3-3, 0-1 PRC) all finishing with an aggregate of 1177. Horvath led the Rebels in center shots with 84.
The match began in smallbore, where the Rebels fired 2348. The team's performance sits narrowly outside of the top 10 in Ole Miss history.
Dinh and Lambdin led the way in the first relay, scoring 591 and 589, respectively. The duo placed second and third, behind Kentucky's Braden Peiser. Dinh's performance was a career best, as she's reached the 590-or-better mark for the fourth time this season.
For Lambdin, her score was a season high, and her third-place finish in the event is the highest for her this season.
De Jesus and Horvath countered for the Rebels, scoring 586 and 582, respectively.
In air rifle, Horvath fired a 595 as the team scored 2366. Horvath once again led the Rebels with a team high output. She finished fourth in the event and had 52 center shots.
Dinh and de Jesus had the next two high scores for Ole Miss, with 592 and 591, respectively. Lambdin rounded out the air rifle score with a 588.
In the second relay, Regan Diamond had an impressive outing as a nonstarter. Diamond fired a 594 to claim the sixth-best finish overall. She came just one point short of tying a career high.
Kayla Riewe earned her first opportunity as a counter against the Wildcats. The freshman fired a 586 and connected on 33 center shots.
The Rebels have next weekend off, before traveling north to Columbus to face Ohio State on Nov. 17.
