Ole Miss Rifle Concludes Regular Season on a High

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss rifle team traveled to Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday and topped No. 11 Memphis 4640-4615. The Rebels concluded the regular season securing a victory in both air rifle (2343-2336) and in smallbore (2297-2279).
Recapping the Match
The Rebels topped the Tigers by 18 points in the smallbore competition with a 2297, the same score Ole Miss shot the weekend prior in their victory over Akron. Sophomore Harley Gardner led the Rebels as she shot a 578, which contributed to her 1164 aggregate. Junior Jessica Haig followed behind Gardner shooting a 575 which matched Memphis' highest smallbore score from senior Amy Fister.
Senior Alison Weisz led the Rebels in air rifle as she posted a 590 score to contribute to the teams overall 2343. This marked the highest score shot during the match and was followed by junior Jessica Haig who tallied a 589 for the third time this season. Gardner contributed a 586, which contributed to her 1164 aggregate.

"We are very glad to finish the regular season with a win," Beasley said. Our performance was close to what it has been with seven of our scores this season being within 10 points, which is pretty consistent. "This was our first time shooting at Memphis' new range, and we are looking forward to competing here again in the future as they continue to make upgrades."

The Rebels will return home to compete in the NCAA Qualifier, the final match before the GARC Championships. Ole Miss will face Jacksonville State on Feb. 18 at 8 a.m. CT in the NCAA Qualifier. This will be the second meeting of the two teams this season. The first 75 fans in attendance will receive an Ole Miss bullet flashdrive.
