ANNAPOLIS, Md. -The No. 15 ranked Ole Miss rifle team and No. 14 Navy finished with the exact same aggregate score, 4631, Saturday at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range, but the Rebels won on centers.

The Rebels had a six-shot lead after shooting a 2290 in smallbore, while Navy posted a 2284. The Mids answered in air rifle, shooting a 2347 to the Rebels 2341. The tie was broken by the number of center shots, and the Rebels finished with 240 to Navy's 239.

Ole Miss posted its third highest score of the season, allowing them to replace one of their other countable scores towards the requirement for NCAA qualification.

Smallbore…
The Rebels' 2290 in smallbore is one off their season-high. Junior Alison Weisz posted a 578, one off her season-best from back in the fall. Sophomore Jessica Haig finished with a 572, freshman Allison Villa shot a 571 and freshman Harley Gardner fired a 569.

Air Rifle…
Weisz led the Rebels in air rifle, tying for the highest score of the day with a 593. It marks her sixth match this season to shoot in the 590s in air rifle and is one off her career-high. Haig shot a 584, Villa a 583 and Gardner rounded out the scoring with a 581.

Quoting Head Coach Valerie Boothe…
"It was a hard fought win. Everyone did their jobs today and worked as a team. We replaced another score and have a chance to get a better score tomorrow."

Next up…
The Rebels will face No. 8 Nebraska Sunday at 8 a.m., to close out the road trip before they head to the NCAA Qualifier next weekend.
