1/18/2015 | Rifle
OXFORD, Miss. - After smallbore, the No. 17 Ole Miss rifle team and No. 16 NC State were tied, but the Wolfpack edged the Rebels in air rifle to win by four, 4606-4602 here Sunday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.
The Rebels 4602 is one off their season best score. Sophomore Alison Weisz led the Rebels with a 572 in smallbore and a 589 in air rifle. Sophomore Sarah Emery shot a career-best 578 in air rifle.
"It was a tough loss, because I felt like we should have won," head coach Valerie Boothe said. "But NC State earned it. We are on an upward trend that we want to focus on. We will definitely be working on consistency in both guns before our next match."
NC State's Lucas Kozeniesky fired a 582 in smallbore and a 585 in air rifle to lead the Wolfpack.
The Rebels are back in action Jan. 24 in Murray, Ky.,
