BLOG: Freeze, Patterson See Programs Rise

ATLANTA, Ga.
- The No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels wrapped up bowl preparations, as they went through their final walk-through in the Georgia Dome, ahead of their matchup with No. 6 TCU in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Wednesday (11:30 a.m. CT, ESPN).

The day's activities began with a joint press conference featuring Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze and TCU head coach Gary Patterson. They discussed their team's bowl preparation and bowl week experience and previewed the matchup.

"I think our intensity has been good here," Freeze said. "I've been pleased with that. I have a concern about just how the conditioning will be when we hit the field against a tempo team like these guys, particularly because it's just hard to simulate that over and over again."

Freeze called the program's appearance in the game, the first of the "New Year's Six" bowls, a validation of their success earlier this season and the journey they have been on over the last three seasons.

"To be here in year three of our journey, I think, is validation for us," Freeze said. "You guys again that follow me know that I'm a big-picture guy, and I don't make too much of one win or too much of one loss. I don't think I can afford to do that where we are. I just stay on the big picture.

"And again, for us, in three years to have gone to three consecutive bowl games, and this year being a New Year's Six Bowl, I think, is validation enough that we're on the right track and we were very, very competitive."

The Battle of Bowl Week also concluded, as both teams competed in Football Feud, a football version of the popular game show "Family Feud," as part of the Georgia Power Chalk Talk and Football Feud event. TCU won the event, the last in the five-day, five-event bowl week challenge, and will take home the coveted championship belt.

Prior to tomorrow's game, fans are invited to attend the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl parade from 8-9:30 a.m. ET, beginning at the corner of Peachtree and Baker Streets in downtown Atlanta. The FanFest presented by Tyson will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center from 8:30-12:30. Cost for the FanFest is $10 with a game ticket and $15 without a ticket.

Ole Miss players and coaches will walk through the FanFest at 10:20, similar to the Walk of Champions through The Grove on game days in Oxford.

Ole Miss is the designated visiting team for the game and will occupy the South sideline. The team tunnel is in portal B below section L13.
