Rebels Head to Texas For Jim West Challenge
The Ole Miss women's golf team closes the 2014 fall slate this weekend when they head to Bourne, Texas for the Jim West Challenge hosted by Texas State. The tournament runs Sunday-Tuesday (Nov. 2-4) and is 18 holes each day. The Rebels are a part of a 12-team field which features the following teams: Houston, Kent State, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, East Carolina, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and host Texas State. The Rebels will be paired with Iowa and Texas Tech to open tournament action.

Texas Homecoming For Abby Newton
Ole Miss junior Abby Newton will make a trip back to here home state of Texas for this week's tournament. Newton, who hails from Katy, Texas, will play in her first collegiate tournament in the state of Texas since joining the Rebels in 2012. Newton's hometown is roughly four hours away from San Antonio, the site of this week's tournament.

Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard shares her thoughts on the final fall tournament.
"It's good to get healthy again and be ready to compete in our final tournament of the fall season. We're looking forward to playing at George Strait's Tapatio Springs Resort."
Seniors Stani Schiavone and Taelor Rubin also shared their thoughts ahead of the Jim West Challenge
"This week is a big week for us and I can't wait to finish my final fall season as a Rebel," said Rubin. "The team has been working so hard these past few weeks to go in and really get some work done in San Antonio."
Schiavone is also excited about the final tournament of the fall slate.
"We are excited and getting prepared for our final tournament of the fall season," said Schiavone. "We're looking forward to finishing the fall season on high note with a good week at Texas State."
Voll Back on the Links
This week's Jim West Challenge marks Kaitlin Voll's return to the links after taking some time off with injury. The Georgia native will be playing in her first tournament since the Rebel Intercollegiate in April. Voll, who played in three tournaments last season, set career lows at the Aueneue Spring Break Classic in Hawaii with three rounds of 75 for a 54-hole career low of 225 and her first career top 20 finish, taking 16th place.
Ole Miss Sends Three to Mercedes Benz Championship in Knoxville
The Rebels sent three players to the Mercedes Benz Championship hosted by Tennessee Oct. 16-18. Alison Hovatter (Meridianville, Ala.), Maria Toennessen (Grimstad, Norway) and Sofia Idoyaga (Buenos Aires, Argentina) represented Ole Miss. Hovatter led the charge for the Rebels finishing tied for 22nd place with a three-day score of 224 (78-70-76 - 224), while Idoyaga and Toennessen both finished tied for 84th with a three-day score of 248. Idoyaga fired rounds of 83, 84 and 81, while Toennessen fired rounds of 85, 76 and 87. Hovatter fired a 70, her best round of the season, during the second round and her three-day score of 224 marks her best 54-hole score of the season.
Player Notes
-Stani Schiavone hasn't carded a round over 74 this fall, equaling her best career start.
-Kaitlin Voll will be playing her first fall tournament this weekend. She will be playing as an individual.

Newton Claims FedEx Memphis Medalist Honors
Junior Abby Newton picked up her first career tournament title by claiming medalist honors at the FedEx Memphis Intercollegiate. Newton set several career marks in the process. Her 68 in the second round was an 18-hole career low and her 210 for the tournament was a new 54-hole career low. Newton becomes the third Ole Miss golfer to claim medalist honors under head coach Michele Drinkard and the first since 2010 when Natalie Gleadall won the Cougar Classic.
Welcome to the Squad
This season the Rebels welcome two new faces in freshman Sofia Idoyaga and Portland State transfer, Madisen Bentley. Idoyaga comes to Oxford all the way from Buenos Aires, Argentina and joins sophomore Maria Toennessen as internationals on the Ole Miss squad. Bentley, a sophomore, joins the Ole Miss squad from Washington state where she spent her freshman season playing for the Vikings. Bentley set the freshman scoring record for Portland State and only shot over a 77 three times in 2013-14.
Welcome to the Family Coach Wilkinson!
The newest member of the Ole Miss women's golf family is assistant coach Hayley Wilkinson. Wilkinson, a native of Australia, enters her first season as assistant coach in 2014-15. Wilkinson is no stranger to collegiate golf as she played collegiately at Long Beach State, leading the 49ers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Tough Fall Slate on Tap
The Rebels will play five fall tournaments this year. After opening at the Memphis FedEx Intercollegiate, Ole Miss travels to the Cougar Classic (Sept. 14-16) hosted by the College of Charleston before taking some time off. Ole Miss will get back on the course at the UNC Tar Heel Invitational (Oct. 10-12) before traveling to the Mercedes Benz Classic (Oct. 17-19), which is hosted by Tennessee. Ole Miss will close the fall slate at the Jim West Challenge (Nov. 1-3) hosted by Texas State.
Drinkard Opens Eighth Season at Ole Miss
Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard opens her eighth season at the helm of the Ole Miss program this week. Drinkard has led the Rebels to six NCAA regional appearances in her eight years at the helm.
