Ole Miss Knocks Off Nebraska

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Ole Miss rifle team used strong performances from sophomore Alivia Yeager and senior Keely Stankey to knock off Nebraska 4650-4610 on Saturday in a neutral-site match.
Yeager tied a career high with an air rifle mark of 589 to lead the Rebels, while junior Kim Coffey fired a score of 588 to finish close behind Yeager. Melissa Quartarone and Keely Stankey both fired a 587, while Abbey Stanec posted a mark of 586 as Ole Miss set a school record aggregate score of 2351 in the air.
Stankey paced the Rebel smallbore line with a mark of 580, while Quartarone added a score of 577. Stanec and sophomore MaryAnn Banks both added marks of 571 and freshman Evalyn Holman closed out the Ole Miss smallbore scoring with a total of 563.
"We had great performances up and down the lineup today," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "We had a great weekend of shooting, but we know we still have more in us and we aren't going to let up anytime soon."
Next up, Ole Miss will face Jacksonville State on Nov. 5 in Murray, Ky.
