Women's Golf Takes Fourth At Suzie Maxwell Berning

NORMAN, Okla. - The Ole Miss women's golf team finished fourth at the Suzie Maxwell Berning Classic with a final round 301 on Sunday at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club.
Junior Natalie Gleadall earned her second consecutive top-five finish, tying for fourth with a 73-71-75-219. Fellow junior Ashley Lance registered a top-10 showing with a 71-77-72-220 good enough for seventh. Haley Millsap tied for 14th with a 226, and Jillian Brodd tied for 26th at 233.
"It was a struggle today with the windy conditions. Glad we had these conditions early in our season, so that we can work on getting better with our commitment and execution of our shots," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "Ashley and Natalie both had a good, solid tournament. They really impressed me with their ball striking all weekend."
Arkansas shot 291 in the final round to overtake host Oklahoma for the win with an 871 total. The Sooners carded a 301 in the final round to finish at 876. Tulsa (894) finished one better than the Rebels (895).
"We are looking forward to getting back to work and preparing for our next tournament at Tennessee," Drinkard added.
The Rebels will be back in action Oct. 8-10 at the Mercedes Benz Championship in Knoxville, Tenn.
