SERIES INFORMATION

  • This was the 58th meeting between Ole Miss and Alabama. The Crimson Tide now hold a 47-9-2 lead in the all-time series and have won seven in a row. The Rebels have only one win in 25 chances against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

GENERAL NOTES

  • ·Ole Miss had only been flagged for 21 penalties on the season coming into the game, the fewest in the SEC. The Rebels were flagged a season-high 12 times against the Crimson Tide.

OFFENSE

  • Sophomore Melvin Harris caught a 15-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. It was Harris' team-leading third touchdown reception on the year.
  • Senior quarterback Jeremiah Masoli tossed a touchdown pass for the third-straight game.

DEFENSE

  • The Ole Miss defense held Alabama to just 100 yards rushing in the game. The Crimson Tide were averaging 197.5 yards rushing per game entering the contest.
  • Senior defensive tackle Jerrell Powe posted a career-high 1.5 QB sacks in the game. Powe had matched his previous high of 1.0 sack four times in his career.
  • Sophomore defensive end Gerald Rivers also tallied a career-high 1.5 QB sacks. Rivers had 1.0 sack on the season coming into the game.
  • Junior cornerback Marcus Temple tied a career-high with seven tackles (five solo), which also tied for the team lead with Fon Ingram.
  • Senior LaMark Armour set a career-high with six tackles (two solo) in his first career start. His previous career-high was three tackles against UAB last season

SPECIAL TEAMS

  • Sophomore Bryson connected on a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter. Rose is now 7-of-9 in field goal attempts on the year and 34-of-34 on all kicks.
  • Sophomore Tyler Campbell tied a career high with eight punts for a 47.9-yard average. He recorded five 50+ yard punts including a long of 58 yards and downed two punts inside the 20-yard line.
