Women's Golf To Conclude Fall At The Derby

The top teams in the country have graced The Derby and 2008 is no exception with a field including Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Central Florida, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Furman, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Tulane and Virginia.
"We have had a great week of preparation, and we are looking forward to playing this weekend," head coach Michele Drinkard "(Strength) Coach (Jami) Clinton said. really worked on their endurance and flexibility this past week also, which will help us to be on top of our games and finish strong."
The Rebels are coming off consecutive top-five finishes. They won the Johnie Imes Invitational in their second tournament of the fall and followed that up with a fifth-place finish at the Mercedes Benz Championship in Knoxville.
Senior Dori Carter leads the team with a 71.22 stroke average and back-to-back runner-up finishes. The All-American is ranked No. 22 in the latest Golfweek rankings.
Sophomore Jillian Brodd, junior Sara Grantham, freshman Ashley Lance and senior Rachel Ingram will join Carter on the links this weekend. Brodd has posted two straight top 20 finishes, while Grantham earned a top-10 at the Johnie Imes.
