Ole Miss Announces Date for Red-Blue Game

12/17/2007 | Football

OXFORD, Miss. The date of Houston Nutt’s first Red-Blue Spring game as Ole Miss head football coach will be Saturday, April 12 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, it was announced Monday.

The Rebels will open spring workouts on Monday, March 17 with the first of 15 practice dates. The start of drills comes immediately following the student body’s week-long spring break.

“I am excited about beginning spring ball right after spring break,” said Nutt. “We tried before to do a week or two before spring break, but then the players go home and you have to reteach everything. So we are going to start after spring break.”

Other Ole Miss athletics events on campus that weekend include the Rebels’ three-game baseball series with LSU, while the Ole Miss men’s tennis team will host Mississippi State Saturday morning at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
