Lady Rebel Golfers To Open Season In Lubbock, Texas

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s golf team is set to open the 2006-07 season Sept. 18-19 at the Jeannine McHaney Invitational hosted by Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

 

The par 72, 6,384 yard The Rawls Course will serve as host for the two day event.  The first 36 holes will be played on Monday with a shotgun start.  The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.

 

The field includes Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Florida International, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, Redlands CC, Sam Houston, San Francisco, SMU, TCU, UTEP, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Tech and Western Michigan.

 

The Lady Rebels will be led by senior Katie Davidson and returning players Dori Carter and Katherine Jones.  Freshmen Sara Grantham and Andrea Buccilla will make their Ole Miss debut next week.   J.J. Flynn will be competing as an individual.

 

“We are looking forward to beginning the season,” head coach Meghan Bolger said.  “The girls came back with a great attitude and have been working hard in practice.  It’s great to see that.”
