FT. MYERS, Fla. Freshman Sara Grantham shot a final round 73 Tuesday, to finish tied for 24th and lead the Ole Miss women’s golf team at the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational.
A Cleveland, Tenn., native, Grantham finished with a 76-75-73224 to earn her second career top 25 finish. Sophomore Dori Carter carded a 79-71-75225 to finish one stroke out of the top 25.
The Lady Rebels concluded the tournament in 10th place with a 309-300-299908. Texas Tech captured the team title with an 879. Louisville posted an 882 to finish three back, College of Charleston shot an 884 for third place, South Florida finished fourth at 887 and Maryland came in fifth with an 889. Miami’s Jessica Steward won by eight strokes with a three-round total of 209.
Ole Miss will conclude the fall portion of the 2006-07 season Oct. 27-29 at The Derby Invitational, hosted by Auburn University.
