Lady Rebel Golfers Headed To Florida For Tournament

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s golf team returns to action Oct. 16-17 at the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational in Ft. Myers, Fla.  The two-day tournament will be played at the Par 72, 6,091-yard Pelican Preserve Golf Course.

 

The tournament will consist of two rounds on Monday with the final round to be played on Tuesday. 

 

The 14-team field includes four teams ranked in this week’s Golfweek Top 50, including College of Charleston, Iowa, Louisville and Maryland.  The rest of the field features Daytona Beach Community College, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville University, Miami, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota, South Florida and Texas Tech.

 

The Lady Rebels will be led by sophomore Dori Carter who has competed in the previous three tournaments for Ole Miss and has one top 10 and two top 20 finishes this fall.  She currently leads the team with a 76.88 stroke average.

 

Joining Carter will be freshman Sara Grantham, also competing in her fourth straight tournament, junior Katherine Jones, freshman Andrea Buccilla and senior Katie Davidson.  Sophomore J.J. Flynn will be participating as an individual.
