Lady Rebel Golfers Finish Day Two Of SEC Championships

TUNICA, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team wrapped up round two action of the SEC Championships with a 328 on Saturday at Tunica National, and will head into Sunday's final round in 12th place, seven strokes behind in-state rival Mississippi State.
The Lady Rebels' two-round total of 649 includes Friday's 321 and Saturday's 328.
The Auburn Tigers (593) hold a three-stroke lead over hard-charging LSU (596), whose team fired the day's low round of 293. Georgia and Tennessee are tied for third and still in the hunt at 603. Arkansas rounds out the top five with a two-day 610.
Auburn's Nicole Hage and Tennessee's Jessica Shepley are tied for the lead individually at 145 (+1). LSU's Rebecca Kuhn had the only round under par Saturday with a one-under 71. She jumped from 29th to ninth.
Senior Nikki Hadd bounced back from a tough opening round of 86 with a three-over 75 to lead the Lady Rebels on Saturday. She will enter final round of action tied for 46th at 161.
Sophomore Katie Davidson followed up her first-round 76 with a second-round 80, and continues to be Ole Miss' low scorer at 156. She is tied for 27th.
Other Ole Miss scores include an 83-84--167 by junior Laura Evans and an 82-89--171 by freshman Katherine Jones.
Junior Sarah Kate Cousart did not compete Saturday due to illness, and will not be able to compete for the remainder of the tournament, said Ole Miss head coach Meghan Bolger.
Final round tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Southeastern Conference Championships awards presentation scheduled for shortly after the end of play.
