Lady Rebels Drop To 12th At Derby Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - The Ole Miss women's golf team carded a second round of 320 at the Derby Invitational on Saturday to drop from sixth place in the team standings to 12th. The Lady Rebels have a two-day total of 620 after posting a season's best round of 300 on Friday.
"We were not nearly as sharp today," said Ole Miss head coach Meghan Bolger. "After playing so well yesterday we had a big drop-off today. I am hopeful that we can pick it up again tomorrow and finish out the tourney and the fall season on a positive note."
Senior Laura Evans led Ole Miss in the second round, posting a 77. Her two-round total is 74-77--151 and she is currently tied for 21st place. Next up for the Lady Rebels is junior Katie Davidson who posted a 78 on Saturday. Davidson is tied for 28th with her tourney total of 75-78--153.
Freshman Dori Carter is tied for 47th after hitting an 83 on Saturday. Carter posted a 73 in the first round to tally a two-day total of 156. Freshman Rachel Ingram carded an 82 on Saturday and owns a 78-82--160 mark heading into the final round. Ingram sits in a tie for 65th place.
Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Rebels is freshman J.J. Flynn, who carded a 86 for the second-straight day. Flynn is in 86th place with her two-round mark of 172. Freshman Megan Johnson is competing in the tournament as an individual and has a mark of 90-90--180. Johnson is in 89th place.
Duke is the team leader of the Derby Invitational after two rounds with a 294-294--588. Host Auburn is five strokes behind the Blue Devils with a 291-302--593. Maria Martinez of Auburn is the individual leader with her two-round total of 69-72--141.
Ole Miss will tee off in the final round of the Derby Invitational at 8:30 a.m., on Sunday.
