Ole Miss Announces 2004-05 Women's Golf Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. - The 2004-05 Ole Miss women's golf schedule, which features competition against several nationally-ranked opponents, was announced Thursday by fourth-year head coach Meghan Bolger.
The schedule includes four fall tournaments, four spring invitationals and the Southeastern Conference Championships, which are slated for April 15-17 at the Tunica National Golf Course in Tunica, Miss.
"We are really looking forward to hosting the SEC Championships," Bolger said. "In past years, it has been a phenomenal event and we look forward to continuing that tradition. We want the players, coaches, support staff personnel and fans to have the very best experience possible during that weekend in Tunica."
In the fall, Ole Miss will return to the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. (Sept. 13-14), Lady Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. (Oct. 17-19) and Lady Paladin Invite in Greenville, S.C. (Oct. 22-24). The team has also picked up the UA/Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate in Tuscaloosa, Ala. (Sept. 19-21).
The spring campaign will kick off at the Edwin Watts/Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C. (Mar. 6-8) before the Lady Rebels look to defend their title at the Waterlefe Invitational in Tampa, Fla. (Mar. 14-15). From there, the squad will journey to the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. (Mar. 18-20) before wrapping up the regular season at the Liz Murphey College in Athens, Ga. (Mar. 25-27). Eleven of the nation's Top 30 teams gathered in Athens a season ago and several of those schools are expected to return in 2005.
"We have put together a very competitive schedule, but I know this team will be ready for the challenge," Bolger added. "We will be facing all of the top teams in our region and a handful of national powers. We have purposely set the bar high and now it's time to go meet those high expectations."
