Lady Rebels Take Second At Beacon Woods Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. - For the third straight season, the Ole Miss women's golf team finished in the top three at the Beacon Woods Invitational, firing a three day total of 306-298-298-902 for a second-place finish on Sunday.
Four Ole Miss golfers finished in the top 20 of the event, including two in the top 10.
"I'm pleased to know that we can focus and come out and play as well as we did after having a couple of weeks off," said head coach Meghan Bolger. "We recovered from the first round and played golf more like what we are used to playing and it paid off for us. I couldn't be more proud of the way this team played this weekend."
Nikki Hadd and Adrienne White both finished the tournament tied for ninth-place overall after strong performances on the second day of action helped push the athletes and their team into second-place. Hadd fired a score of 76-72-75-223, while White carded a 78-71-74-223 for the finish.
Sophomore Sarah Kate Cousart turned in the best score for a Lady Rebel on Sunday, using a 1-over-par score of 73 to push herself into a tie for 18th in the final standings. Cousart recorded a 78-79-73-230 for her first top 20 finish of the season.
Laura Evans finished tied for 20th in the individual standings, carding a three-day score of 74-79-78-231, while Jade Polonich finished right outside the top 20 with a score of 80-76-76-232 to end the tournament in a tie for 23rd.
Katie Davidson stayed put after the final round of play, finishing in a tie for 46th with a score of 84-82-82-248, while Lisha Beyer moved up a spot to finish the tournament tied for 52nd with a score of 87-86-83-256. Both players were competing as individuals.
Ole Miss will have a week off before returning to action at the Stetson University/Mission Inn Invitational October 19-21 in Orlando, Fla.
