SHREVEPORT, La. - Head coach David Cutcliffe sent his Ole Miss Rebels through a two-hour practice session at Independence Stadium Tuesday. It was the team's first opportunity to work on the FieldTurf, a synthetic surface.

Ole Miss had scheduled its first workout on the field Monday, but was unable to practic due to rain and lightning which moved over Independence Stadium just as the Rebels took the field. The team was forced to have a walk-thru practice under the south end zone.

Tuesday's practice had the Rebels working on all phases of their Nebraska game plan. Although Ole Miss wasn't in full pads, the Rebels still got in a significant amount of contact.

Linebacker Justin Wade, who missed Monday's session due to a death in his family, joined the team Monday night and participated in Tuesday's workout.

Head Coach David Cutcliffe:
"You could tell that our team was anxious and excited about getting back to work. We got in some quality contact work, which was badly needed. It was out first opportunity to work on the artifical surface. I thought our players liked it and moved really well on it."
